How Steel-Flex® survived a bushfire
in Southwest WA
Steel-Flex® proved its strength during the Meelup Regional Park bushfire in Southwest WA, where extreme heat and fast-moving flames tested local infrastructure.
As a flexible guide post made from high-performance spring steel, Steel-Flex® springs back to vertical after impacts. It’s widely used as a flexible road-edge guide post due to its durability, corrosion resistance, and reliable reflectivity.
During the January fire from Curtis Bay to Eagle Bay, several flexible delineators were exposed to heat, smoke and debris. Although blackened, they stayed upright and continued to provide clear delineation.
Delnorth supported the project with product selection and technical advice to ensure long-term performance in fire-prone areas.
